About Us

Friends of Sitka Circus Arts (FOSCA) was founded in 2016 to support Sitka Cirque, which is an incredible local circus arts program in Sitka, Alaska. Circus arts blend the theatricality of performance, the grace of dance, the strength and flexibility of gymnastics, and the teamwork of athletics. Cirque is a uniquely inclusive, non-competitive indoor activity that welcomes all ages and abilities.
Sitka Cirque is known for its exceptional safety record, welcoming culture, and a professional staff with extensive experience. It’s a program well worth supporting.

FOSCA extends the reach of circus arts beyond what one small business can do alone. We offer student scholarships, fund performances, provide equipment grants, and support mentorship programs, including youth trips to Las Vegas to see what a future in circus arts can look like!

We believe Sitka is richer for having a vibrant circus arts culture. Circus arts support healthy bodies and minds, while filling our town with awe-inspiring performances. Community involvement, through volunteering and donations, is essential to keeping this art form alive and thriving in Sitka.

Why Cirque?

  • National Connections: Links Sitka youth to a wider network of circus arts education and careers.

  • Unique for Sitka: Cirque is a high-quality arts-based program that is rarely found in towns this size.  It needs help to thrive, and it is F.O.S.C.A.'s mission to provide that help.
