Scholarship Program

Scholarships: Keeping Sitka Cirque Alive and Accessible

Friends of Sitka Cirque (FOSCA) raises funds each year to make circus arts accessible to our community.

These scholarships do more than help individual students, they keep Sitka Cirque itself alive. Our local circus program faces the same fixed costs every month: rent, insurance, equipment upkeep, and instructor pay. Those costs don’t shrink when attendance dips. Because of this, tuition must stay high enough to cover operations. Without financial assistance, many families would have to withdraw. If that happens, it is likely that there may not be enough enrollment to sustain the program.

Your donations directly prevent that outcome. Every dollar raised through FOSCA’s scholarship fund helps bridge the gap between what families can pay and what it costs to keep Sitka Cirque open. When you contribute, you’re not just supporting access, you’re ensuring that Sitka continues to have this one-of-a-kind program that builds confidence, strength, and community for kids and adults alike.

In a small place like Sitka, opportunities like this are rare. With your support, they can remain possible. Without it, they can’t.

For Youth & Adults

We provide partial and full tuition scholarships for children and adults.

Since 2016, we have awarded over $35,000 in assistance!  We favor students who display dedication to their craft and who have special financial circumstances that jeopardize their participation in the circus arts program.

Federal Empolyees,

During the current federal pay interruption, FOSCA will cover the cost of costumes and classes for students/families of federal employees, so students can continue to participate fully. This assistance is temporary and confidential, lasting until paychecks resume. We respectfully ask that once back-pay is received, families reimburse FOSCA, so these funds can be used to support the next round of scholarships.
